To Tow Boat Captains,
My name is Terry Hill and I own and operate Potomac Marine Towing and Salvage serving the Washington D.C. area. During my 20 plus years in the marine industry, safety has always been my primary concern. As Chairman of C-PORT for six years my major focus was on “Risk Management” and safety training for all towing companies. With this in mind, I am writing this letter and giving my recommendation.
In 2009 I learned of a new product called SEE CANNON, made by Night to Day Camera Systems (NDCS) Dallas, Texas. The SEE CANNON is a marine low lux night vision camera every towboat should be equipped with. The camera is very sensitive to low ambient light conditions. Shore light and star light is enough to have a clear and detailed picture of objects in the water. This camera will provide better visibility in the dark than radar clearly showing logs, crab pot buoys, and especially boats with or without running lights.
The SEE CANNON is powered by 12 volts DC+ and can easily connect to most marine monitors. Inexpensive monitors and DVD records can be supplied by NDCS. As our industry grows recording our operations become very important from a liability standpoint.
The combination of excellent picture resolution, recording options and affordability make this one of the most exciting safety products for the marine industry in years. I personally use the product and endorse the SEE CANNON to the Tow Boat Industry.
Sincerely,
Terry Hill
